About F*ck Flattering!
We are taking body acceptance to the streets - or more accurately - the stores where we purchase our clothing!
For a lot of us, shopping for clothing can be a dismaying experience to say the least. In fitting rooms we face our battles with self-esteem and body image - holding ourselves to unrealistic and unobtainable standards of beauty.
This is an introduction into a world where you can work on eradicating those ideals and say f*ck flattering. Here we dismantle conditioned feelings of inadequacy, fat stigma, phobia and hatred, and the unrealistic beauty standards everyone struggles with. This blog is about embracing the inspiring and striking person in the mirror, no matter what you put on your body.
But mostly, this blog is an introduction to body positivity, acceptance, self love and fat positivity as an intersecting movement. F*ck Flattering will be used as an index, and gateway into a community that fiercely fights for you!
With a network of body positive bloggers, we will make this a global project to help spread awareness for a communtiy striving to spread a message of acceptance and love. Using items to leave a message for anyone willing to stop and look, we will provide an opportunity to allow people to wander into this world.
Over the next few weeks we will be working steadily on creating stickers and sending them off to volunteers all over the world willing to go out and decorate their own cities with them. This is all about spreading awareness and leaving a door open where normally people will walk, unsuspecting, right by. We ask that you stick ‘em to windows, to poles, bus stops, and fitting room mirrors.
The blog is only a baby, so have some patience as we tend to it over the next few weeks. We welcome submissions linking to blogs that advocate for self love and body acceptance. As well as content suggestions.
To get involved you can also message Sam if you’re curious about receiving a pack of stickers with the city you live in. I’m looking for people who live in congested, bustling, and active cities such as LA, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta! Funds are limited and locations need to be prioritized to high traffic places until funds become less limited. I would love to just send these stickers off everywhere and anywhere, but that’s just not feasible unless you are able to pay for the stickers yourselves, which is always an option. If you’re unsure if your town is populated enough, simply ask - there is no harm in asking!
Anyways, I hope to see how this community comes together to help with this project! I have complete faith we can all make something special from this.
xoxo Sam & Caitlin

altasudaka asked: please please don't delete this blog. It's great that there is asource where many fat positive images are alltogheter, it's a great resource

I guess I won’t.

:/ But just saying, this blog won’t be active. But I’ll leave it up for anyone who wants to look through it.

I’m not deleting just yet.

I want to give people more time to be able to find if they want.

DELETING FATPOSIDOODLES TOMORROW.

spraynard-kruger asked: Hey I was really sad to see that you're deleting this blog. Have you thought about keeping it archived and just not posting to it? I think it's a great resource that others could link to or peruse/reblog in the future.

Honestly, probably not.

If anything I’ll like and reblog all the drawings I’ve done and tag them for my personal blog or something. C

DELETING

Attention all my lovely followers.

If you haven’t noticed this blog hasn’t been given as much attention lately. I apologize.

I never meant to neglect it. But I’m just more invested in my personal blog. I speak openly about fat acceptance and body positivity there just about every day.

I haven’t been able to draw lately. I have no means to really provide any drawings and really I just don’t mind going back to my personal blog for all my fat acceptance stuff.

So basically, I’m deleting this blog and I ask if you don’t mind you can always follow my personal blog here.

I just changed my url from samberrilicious though. I might switch back, so just to be safe I’ll provide both url’s.

I’ll delete this blog in about three hours before I have to get ready for work.

xoxo Sami

Rebel Wilson for Details Magazine

She’s so fab

It’s really fucked up just how much they photoshopped her to look smaller. You think I don’t see how the hips don’t match up with the guy on the right by a fucking mile because they shrunk down her hips?Or how the pelvis on the guy on the left looks awkwardly shaved off so they could put in the white backdrop so it’s looks like she takes up less space? I fucking notice. And they have the audacity to think they’re doing fat girls a favor by tossing in a few paid male models to grope at her breasts so that for once a fat girl gets to feel wanted. That for once a fat girl gets to feel fuckable by the kind of men that we are told will never want us.Fuck this photoshoot because my body doesn’t need your faux pity acceptance. Rebel Wilson deserves so much more than this. She deserves raw, unforgiving attention because she is a raw, unforgiving person just like the rest of us.
